About Teacher's Friend

Hey! My name is Georgie and I am a travel lover, explorer and English teacher! I’ve now been an ESL teacher for five years… three of which have been spent on holiday/ travelling… Pretty cool, huh?

My business is unique. You will not find another one like it. I offer a fully inclusive concierge service to help adventure seeking travellers (or travellers to be!) relocate and teach English in the incredible countries and change their lives (and the lives of others). The level of support that I offer with your relocation is second to none. It is the real deal, an entire, life-changing process.

Teacher’s Friend (TF) is an awesome idea developed by a teacher, for teachers (you) ! After moving to Vietnam nearly six years ago I fell in love with the country and it’s people and want as many people as possible to share the wonderful experience of living and working here. Whether you’re new to teaching or a seasoned expert I’m sure that I can help you. I’ve made the mistakes so that you don’t have to! I offer TEFL certification for teaching English and also fully inclusive packages to help you find your perfect job and start your new life.

What can I offer you?

TEFL certification

If you don’t yet meet the international standard for TEFL teaching then join me and my partner language centre to get you the qualification that you need- to not only teach in Vietnam but also to travel the world!

Make your own choices

I won’t take away your freedom to choose where you work, who you live with, your accommodation, your start date or anything else. This is your trip, I’m just a helping hand! Many companies who offer “guaranteed job placemat” tell you where you must work. I will never do that. I offer 3-5 interviews with top rated centres for teaching English in Vietnam and then you choose the best fit for you.

Year round recruitment

I can also recruit year round, so my program has no “start dates”. This means you don’t need to wait to be told when you can come and teach in Vietnam. Get started teaching English in Vietnam right now!

Don’t mess it up

With me you won’t end up with a broken bike, living in a dodgy backstreet alleyway, with a school who doesn’t respect you, going on over priced tours, never learning a word of the local language and having no local friends. (Trust me, I did it, it sucked. I won’t let this happen to you!)

Be your friend

You can contact my local team or myself at any time either in person, by phone, email or Skype for the duration of your time in Vietnam. That’s not just until you have given me your money, or until you land in the country, or until you have the job. It means for the whole time you are in Vietnam you will have my unlimited support. I’ve got your back! This is a lifetime’s worth of support for teaching English in Vietnam if you need it.

Get treated right

Get paid what you deserve, on time, and with the correct work permit. Teaching English in Vietnam is a very well respected profession with many perks, so make sure you are in a language centre that values you as a person and not just for profit.

Fast response times

Don’t sit worrying about something for a week while teaching in Vietnam, don’t sit waiting for a reply, I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours. After all, I am your friend. I also have in country partners who are always on hand and ready to help, or go for a coffee!

Find the joy in teaching

The games, the tears, the laughs, the private jokes, the pay packet. Teach English in Vietnam and try something new, something different, that you’ve never experienced before!

Get out of the office

Teaching English in Vietnam is energetic, engaging and motivating. You get to stand up, be creative, engage with people, learn from others and never go back to your mind-numbing 9-5.

Why am I different?

I offer a SUPER service! It is Specialist, Unique, Personalised, Empathetic and Reliable. That is what makes it a SUPER service!

I am the only person who specializes solely in Vietnam. Other services often have staff who have never actually been to the country but I have worked and lived in Vietnam for over 2.5 years and I want to share my passion and love for this beautiful country with you, so you can explore the best it has to offer. Most other companies are huge organisations, whereas I am a small, friendly one lady band with amazing in partners in Vietnam.
I am the only service that offers fully inclusive relocation packages to help you with absolutely everything you need to move to Vietnam (job placement, work permit, accommodation assistance, pre-departure support and much more) with life-long assistance and support throughout your time in Vietnam.
I am not a huge company or organisation. I am a teacher like you, who wants to explore the world, meet the locals and make a difference, without the anxiety, stress and scams. Rather than working with a bunch of anonymous people, you’ll have me and my team on your side. I’ll be like your big sister here in Vietnam. My clients tell me I’m super supportive, approachable and kind too, and that I go above and beyond to look after you. I know Vietnam is a long way from home, and that’s why it’s important to have someone on your side with your best interests at heart.
I have been through what you’re going through, I have been in your shoes. I have laughed, cried, wanted to leave and come out the other side. Like the time when I got riding my motorbike in the dark or the time when my language centre wasn’t paying me the right amount. I came to Vietnam on my own too. I’ve experienced the pitfalls, felt the anxiety, understand the stress and know the questions you have.
Myself or one of my team is always in Vietnam and ready to help you- hands on, face to face and with a lot of love. We’re not just sat in an office with your money once you’ve paid. We are actually there, on the ground to support you. Oh and of course, we can provide coffee, smiles and free hugs when required.
All of this adds up to my SUPER concierge service! See below for the packages that I offer.

Why choose me as your friend?

I am not just a TEFL provider, I am not offering an internship program, I am not a recruitment agency.

I am the only person who provides such a comprehensive concierge service for teaching English in Vietnam. If you look online you will find TEFL courses, you will find internships. You will not find anyone else who offers the level of support and commitment and wealth of resources that I offer with my packages. There is currently no-one else who does what I do. I offer a unique service that is full of integrity, honesty and warmth.

Here are a few great reasons why you should relocate to Vietnam with Teacher’s Friend!

1. I was once in your shoes!

Teacher’s Friend Vietnam was created by a teacher and adventure seeker for a teacher and adventure seeker. I have lived and worked extensively teaching English in Vietnam and I operate a small, friendly start up business which has the time to put you first. I am not a faceless company, I am a person you can trust. You can make secure online payments, read my testimonials and check out my reviews!

2. Unlimited support

I offer excellent value for money combined with outstanding customer service and I will always go above and beyond teachers’ expectations. I offer on-going support for the entire time you are in Vietnam- from before you leave your home country until your adventure comes to an end…You are never alone. I really am your go-to person for teaching English in Vietnam and I want to share my passion with you.

3. I am a wealth of excellent resources

All my partner schools provide work permits, teacher benefits, teaching materials, great facilities and well-deserved salaries. I offer free access to lesson plans and teaching support which collates my five years of teaching experience. You will also receive loads of really cool info on life in Vietnam. I have an alumni of previous teachers happy to share their experience and meet with you when you arrive!

4. Make a difference!

Many of my partners are local Vietnamese people making an honest living who I met during my time in Vietnam. These people helped me so much while I was living and teaching in Vietnam and I know I can trust them. I am also working closely with all of my partner schools to try and prevent racial discrimination within the ESL teaching industry, which has been a big problem previously and highly unfair. I really want to give back to a country that has given me so much.

5. Explore new things!

You can choose from a variety of cities all over Vietnam and teaching English in Vietnam will provide excellent travel opportunities to many, many exciting destinations. There is also plenty of opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture because my packages provide bike lessons, a city tour, local contacts and much more!

6. Work with the best of the best

I will get you interviews in the best, highest quality schools and language centres in Vietnam. These centres all provide excellent facilities and fantastic resources, on-going training and assessment, constant commitment to professional development and a progressive attitude. All of my language centres have the best interests of the students at heart and are all extremely professional. Some have links to professional bodies such as International House, the British Council and leading universities from all over the world. My partners are constantly looking for ways to improve learning and develop student education across Vietnam in order to give local people access to the best opportunities.

I couldn’t believe my luck when I came across the website ‘Teachers Friend Vietnam’: it was offering precisely what I needed to embark on my new teaching venture.  What is advertised is exactly what is delivered and it is exceptionally good value for money.

Without ‘Teachers Friend’ and Georgie, the company director, this experience would have been so much more challenging and time consuming to organise.

Georgie is extremely well versed in all things Vietnamese!  She is an excellent communicator and has dealt with my endless questions swiftly and effectively; she is also very empathetic, encouraging and a great listener.  There has been many a time when I have just wanted to hug her! I am so very thankful for the expert guidance and ongoing support.

Ready to start your new life?

Who am I?

My name is Georgie. I am a travel lover, adventure seeker and social butterfly! I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures and making life-long friends from all over the world. I first moved to Vietnam nearly six years ago and intended on staying for just 6 months. Six years later and I have lived in beautiful Vietnam, done an amazing motorbike trip down the whole of the country, travelled through a large amount of the incredible Thailand, lived in Malaysia for three months which was fascinating, been back to my home of Vietnam, lived on a beautiful farm in the Australian outback for a year, lived on the incredible sunshine coast and travelled around Australia, lived in New Zealand teaching IELTS exam classes to adults which was so much fun and here I am, back in Vietnam!

I want to share my love of Vietnam with as many people as I can and the joy of teaching English in this beautiful country. It really has changed my life in so many ways. I met my long term partner here and we now travel the world together, I have made lifelong friends who I regularly meet up with all over the world, I have developed my skills as a teacher, and I have a deep understanding of the rich culture of Vietnam and it will always partly feel like home. Of course I now also own Teacher’s Friend Vietnam and so get to do what I love every day.

I offer an honest, friendly service that is a friend first and a service afterwards. I am extremely friendly and approachable and I want to share my passion for travel, teaching and Vietnam with you!

Professional Bio:

Georgie graduated with a degree in Community Drama (she’s never been one for the 9-5 office job) and soon after passed the CELTA course with a Pass A. Here’s some stats for you. For every ten people who take the CELTA, it’s likely that eight will get a Pass C, two will get a Pass B and none will get a Pass A. You have to be a damn good teacher.

Georgie has been travelling the world and teaching English since 2013 and has lived and taught in the UK, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia with over six years of experience. The majority of her teaching time was spent in Hanoi, Vietnam where she taught English for over two years in language centres, private and public schools, private classes and online. She taught all ages from 3-17 years and adults. She worked for one of the biggest and most recognised language centres in Vietnam, and they are now one of Teacher’s Friend Vietnam’s partner schools. Teacher’s Friend is also partnered with other major language centres across Vietnam, who also have links to the public schools, the British Council and well-recognised universities.

The reviews and testimonials for Georgie for the service, dedication and commitment she gives to all her teachers is unmatched and she is often approached by partners and businesses who wish to work with her, in this rapidly expanding company.
